Zine Project: Music Subcultures

This printable zine project asks 10th–11th grade students to research and create a handmade zine about one music subculture: metal, punk, or early hip-hop. The eight-page zine includes a front cover, six interior pages covering origins, sound, founders, DIY culture, and controversies, plus a mini playlist on the back cover. Combines research, creative writing, visual design, and hands-on assembly—useful as a unit capstone or alternative assessment in music history or cultural studies.
