The Island Challenge

This printable collaborative activity invites 7th graders to work in teams on an island survival scenario. Students decide how to find food and water, build shelter, and assign roles based on group members' strengths—such as talkers, artists, writers, and listeners. Follow-up reflection questions prompt students to analyze how they worked together and what they learned about problem-solving. Useful for team-building, group dynamics, classroom community-building, or as part of a unit on cooperation and social-emotional learning.
