This hands-on constellation warm-up has 9th graders create their own constellations by drawing 8–12 random dots, connecting them to form a simple picture, and naming their creation. It introduces the concept of constellation patterns and how humans organize stars in the night sky. Use it as an icebreaker before studying historical constellations or Greek mythology.
