About:
This 6-card flashcard set introduces 6th graders to medical terminology and anatomy, covering conditions and body features like knee joint inflammation, clavicles, the funny bone, and ankle ligament injuries. Use it for anatomy vocabulary review, health-science preparation, or as a supplement during a unit on the human body or medical conditions.
Terms in This Set
- The accumulation of fluid and inflammation around the knee joint.
- Physical sensation in humans of a "fluttery" feeling caused by a reduction of blood flow to the organ.
- Humans do not have this, but we do have two clavicles, although not fused together. We have no need for this as we do not fly.
- The spot at the back of your elbow where the ulnar nerve (one of the three main nerves in the arm) rests against the humerus (upper arm bone).
- When your body senses sudden, extreme cold in the mouth or throat, it tries to react and warm up. Blood vessels throughout the head expand to let extra blood into the area for warmth. That quick change in blood vessel size causes sudden pain.
- When one or more of the ligaments in this area are stretched or torn, causing pain, swelling, and difficulty walking.
