  • 1A. In an effort to restore order to the Roman Republic, Julius Caesar, Marcus Licinius Crassus, and Pompey formed a political group known as the First Triumvirate. Greece is not in the empire with the country Italy to the left of the highlighted image. The western roman empire fell on CE 476. Law code included of Mesopotamia (Babylon) having the Code of Hammurabi, the Hebrew civilization had Ten commandments, the Athens had draconian code, and the roman republic had twelve tables. The original purpose of the pantheon (build in the golden ages) was to temple the gods of Athena. Twelve tables from rode is what encouraged “innocent until found guilty.
  • 2A. Alexander the great conquered the roman empire and built the Hellenistic empire. Paul The Apostolate was one of the most famous Christian missionaries. The Punic wars were fought between Rome and Carthage over trade and territory. The first to create checks and balances was the Roman republic. Rome did not lose all 3 Punic wars. The founders of these religions, Judaism = Abraham, Christianity = Jesus of Nazareth, Zoroastrianism = Zoroaster, Hinduism = No single founder, Buddhism = Siddhartha Gautama, Confucianism = Confucianism, Taoism = Lao Zi. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Each religion with its sacred text would be Judaism = Torah, Christianity = New testament, Buddhism = Tripatika, Hinduism = Vedas and Upanishads, Confucianism = Analects, Taoism = Tao Te Ching. Plato inspired rome to adopt an indirect democracy, or republic for its government. Athens was the worlds first democracy.
  • 3A. Greeks and Etruscans influenced Roman architecture. Roman roads helped the economy by making it easier for cities to trade with one another. The roads made it possible for the roman army to travel quickly to any location in the roman empire. A typical roman road had 5 layers. The romans believed that building straight roads allowed for people to travel between 2 places faster.
  • Roman bridges used arches and concrete.
