About:
This bingo card offers 25 literature-based activities for first graders reading Madeline. Activities span creative projects (Paris maps and French flag coloring), character exploration (comparing bedtime routines, exploring themes of helping others), Bible passages on order and compassion, and math problems tied to story concepts. Use this as a choice board for independent reading practice, homeschool unit completion, or enrichment activities after finishing the book.
Word List
- Print and color the French flag and add to your journal
- Print out a map of Paris, France, and find the places listed on the second-to-last page in the book, and paste in your journal.
- Print out a picture of each place in the list on the second-to-last page in the book and make a collage, add this to your journal
- Print out a map of France and find the Seine river. Trace the river North to the English Channel and paste in your journal
- Watch a video documentary on the building of the Eiffel Tower. Draw a picture of the tower in your journal.
- Find the pairs of rhyming words in the story and write them down in your journal
- Write down the steps in your bedtime routine and compare to the steps in the story
- Find the appendix and stomach on a diagram of the human body and paste into your journal

- Make a list of things you can do for someone who is ill or confined at home
- Read Genesis 1 & 2 and respond in your journal how God orders the universe
- Read Numbers 2 and respond how God tells Moses the arrangement of the 12 tribes encampment around the tabernacle
- Read Luke 9:14 and respond how Jesus orders the people in groups of 50
